HOW TO GET TO THE HISTORICAL CITY CENTER OF PRATO BY CAR

With the A1 Milan-Naples highway or the A11 Florence-Pisa Nord highway.

Apartments are located in the Historic City Center (in a limited traffic area controlled by cameras – where just authorized vehicles are allowed to pass) but it is possible to park nearby!

You can park in:
San Domenico Square (250m – 3 min walking) – GoogleMaps
Mercatale Square (600m – 7 min walking) – GoogleMaps
Giovanni Ciardi Square (600m – 7 min walking) – GoogleMaps
San Marco Square (650m – 8 min walking) – GoogleMaps
Mercato Nuovo Square (950m – 12 min walking) – GoogleMaps

-Approximately the square with the most parking is Mercatale square, alone it has more parking than all the other squares put together-

They are all squares very close to the house but just outside the ZTL (limited traffic zone) still in the historic centre!
Parking is free at night – from 20.00 to 08.00 – all week. Sunday is free all day from 08.00 to 20.00

The white stripes are always reserved for inhabitants. The blue stripes are for everyone.

Always pay attention to the signs with street cleaning days and/or extraordinary works and/or extraordinary events, these parking area are public and mine are just suggestions!

HOW TO GET TO THE HISTORICAL CITY CENTER OF PRATO BY TRAIN

The train station closest to the historic center is Prato Porta al Serraglio. Trains departing from here go and back from Firenze Santa Maria Novella and Pistoia Centrale. The other station nearby is Prato Centrale, about 25 minutes on foot from the Historic City Center and a few minutes by train from Prato Porta al Serraglio. The Taxi stop in the Historic City Center is in Piazza del Duomo, however it is advisable to book a Taxi, to do so by telephone on +39 0574 5656 or by downloading the official application at this link.

HOW TO GET TO THE HISTORICAL CITY CENTER OF PRATO BY AIRPLANE

The closest airport to the Historic City Center of Prato is the Florence Amerigo Vespucci Airport (FLR) also known as Peretola Airport. The other nearby airports are Pisa (PSA) and Bologna (BLQ). From the Florence airport it is possible to reach Prato by taxi – the taxi stop is located outside the airport – or by Bus with Autolinee Toscane.
